Operational impact of protests in Bangladesh

19 July 2024

The situation in Bangladesh has escalated, and internet services nationwide have been cut. Phone lines have not been affected, so communication via telephone is possible.

While the airport and seaport remain operational, this latest development further challenges operations as all systems are inaccessible.

As weekends in Bangladesh consist of Friday and Saturday, the operational impact is currently limited.

We will update you on the situation on Sunday, 21 July.

18 July 2024

There have been weeks of unrest in Bangladesh as students from universities across the country protest government job quotas. Clashes between the students and authorities resulted in fatalities this week.

Today, 18 July 2024, the student protesters called for a nationwide blockade, limiting road movements to ambulances and other emergency services.

Considering the situation and our team's safety, our staff will work from home until further notice.

While the Port in Chittagong and the Airport in Dhaka are operating normally, the blockade severely challenges cargo pickup and delivery. Hence, shipment delays can be expected.

We are monitoring the situation and will update as it develops.
